  1. re your blog article about the demise of the market research function due to introverted staffing. I don’t think they’re related. it’s probably got more to do with the effectiveness of the departments for another reason. I’m guessing it relates to “added value”. My observation is that the corporate market research department typically serves as a liaison function between suppliers (vendors) and internal constituancies. I think a true partnership between research and suppliers can bring out the insights and value of a project with actionable recommendations. They will be more appreciated and valued as a result.
